Forgotten Oaks Homestead LLC is a small family business located in Poplar Grove, IL. We specialize in Orpington Chickens. Selling fertile hatching eggs, chicks, and non-fertile eating eggs. We also offer New Zealand kits.

We chose the Orpington breed for its gentle nature and they are great with children, even the roosters are more docile then most breeds. Our Orpingtons come in Lavender, Chocolate, and Black color. We do cross breed a couple Americana chickens to breed Easter Eggs for the colorful eggs.

The New Zealand rabbit is a great dual purpose rabbit. It is a large breed known for meat production as well as a great pet and show rabbit. We offer blues, blacks, and broken black.

This hatching will product lavender or black Orpingtons. Rooster is my black split lavender and the hens are lavender and chocolate.

Fertile Hatching Eggs $2.50 each

I start collecting when order is placed. There might be a waiting list. 6 egg minimum / 24 egg maximum

Eggs are from my Orpington Black Split Lavender F1 rooster to Orpington Lavender hens will hatch 50% Lavender and 50% Black Split Lavender (50/50% per egg). If you breed the lavenders together, you will have 100% lavender chicks.

I can not guarantee your hatch rate. There are too many variables. Expressly, if this is your first time incubating or if you are putting them under a broody hen.

Non-fertile eating eggs $5 per dozen

Nest run (not washed or sized) this keeps the natural protective coating that seals the shell and helps keep bacteria out. I do refrigerate and collect daily. The chickens are kept in a separate coop away from my rooster.
